Christmas Advent Activities

Join us on Dec 1 for our activities
starting the celebration of Advent.

·
At 9:45 AM starts our Advent Bible
study, Bethlehem in the Midst of Bedlam, by Rev. James H. Moore. Why is it that
Christmas always seems to be surrounded by chaos, confusion, and disorder?
Reminding believers that Christ's birth in Bethlehem was also a time of
upheaval, Moore reveals in Advent-themed lessons how God triumphs over turmoil.
Each session includes a key Scripture, prayer, focus for the week, discussion
questions, and daily readings.

·
From 4-5 PM make
an Advent Wreath that children can take home to celebrate each week of Advent
during your family’s devotional time. We will talk about the meaning of Advent,
and the anticipation of the Birth of Christ.

·
At 5 PM is the Hanging of the Greens service. We'll have a
service of readings, bringing in designated greens (cedar, holly and ivy, pine
and fir), and singing carols, to prepare for the celebration of Christ's coming
and the beginning of Advent.
