~ For most Americans, income has stagnated over the last 30
years while the incomes for the top one percent have sky rocketed. Recovery
from the recession has been slow. Most Americans have not participated in the

recovery, and policies have not been implemented that reverse this trend.

To discuss the
causes and the cost of income inequality and policy recommendations to address
the problem, a coalition of labor,
policy, faith-based, and political organizations will cosponsor a policy forum
on October 17 featuring Hedrick Smith, Dean Baker, and other experts.
