Franconia Station to Have 4th Annual 'Fill the Wagon' Food Drive

Franconia Police Station and CAC members will start collecting donations Nov. 8.

The Franconia Police Station of the Fairfax County Police Department will have its 4th Annual Fill the Wagon food drive starting Friday. Officers and members of the station's Citizen Advisory Committee will be stationed at different locations in the area to collect donations.

The “wagon” for the annual food drive refers to a marked police vehicle that residents may see patrolling the streets. It is primarily used to transport prisoners to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, according to a recent news release. The goal of the food drive is to "fill the wagon" with as many canned goods and non-perishable food items to be delivered to local food banks.

The wagon will be at the following locations in the community:

  • 4-8 p.m., Nov. 8, Giant — 6426 Springfield Plaza
  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2-6 p.m., Nov. 9 Shoppers Food Warehouse — 9409 Lorton Market St.
