Watching your weight? Patch blogger Danielle Wirick says get candy for Halloween, but make sure you're not a fan. “Don’t like Twizzlers?  Buy all Twizzlers,” she says. “Don’t like chocolate (what?!)  Buy all chocolate.”

Meanwhile, Patch blogger Dr. Allison Adams breaks down theHalloween candy options. “If they really want a piece of candy, a small piece of chocolate that melts away quickly is much better for their teeth than a sticky, sweet candy that will stick in the grooves of their teeth,” she says.

Julie Upton offers alternatives for a healthier Halloween, with a mix of good and bad treats. Suggestions include small Halloween toys — the kind of little things that come in bulk for Halloween parties. It’s a perfect alternative to the candy crowd.

For the religious, worried more about the Halloween message than the sugar content in treats, there’s Scripture Candy.

What about your Halloween dish? Are you even handing out treats? Turning the porch light off on Halloween? Tell us in the comments section below!
