Will Northern Virginia See Snow?

NWS issues Flood Watch from Wednesday afternoon to late evening.

Will Northern Virginia see any snow Wednesday night or Thursday morning? The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures in the 40s by 5 p.m. Wednesday, with a 100 percent chance of rain, and a 100 percent chance of a mix of rain and snow after midnight.

The snow, if it comes, will likely fall between 1-4 a.m. Thursday, according to NWS predictions, with less than a half-inch accumulation possible.

The National Weather Service has also issued a Flood Watch for Fairfax County from Wednesday afternoon into the late evening hours.

WJLA Senior Meterologist Bob Ryan said there is "no risk" of a snow storm, and predicts the area may see a mix of rain and snow between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., with any dusting of snow gone by the Thursday morning rush hour.

Channel 4 metereologist Doug Kammerer predicts the area could see as much as 3 inches of rain on Wednesday and snow falling out west, with about 1-2 inches of snow falling from Front Royal to Frederick, Md. Kammerer predicted temps in the 40s through Monday.
