Court Date Set for Eric Kweder

Kweder was arraigned Tuesday morning and is scheduled to return to court in February.

Eric Kweder was arraigned at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday for second degree murder, according to the Fairfax County General District Court. According to court records, Kweder has not entered a plea at this time.

Kweder is being accused of killing his roommate, 32-year-old Andy Lun Yun. Kweder allegedly struck Yun with a blunt object, according to a recent news release from the Fairfax County Police Department. PFC Officer Bud Walker recently said in an email that they are not at liberty to name the weapon or how many times Yun was struck with the object. Those details will have to come out in court.

Fairfax County police arrested 34-year-old Kweder of the 6000 block of Hydrangea Dr., and charged him with murder Friday afternoon after searching for him in relation to a call they received reporting a suspicious death around 10:21 a.m.

Later that afternoon, police officially declared the death a homicide. Kweder was apprehended about five miles from the scene of the crime around 2:30 p.m., according to MPO Eddy Azcarate.

According to his public Facebook page, Kweder studied exercise and sport science at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Ky., and graduated in 2009. His page also included photos of him as a Marine.

Kweder is also being charged with destruction of property with intent, a misdemeanor for which he will be fined $1,000 according to court records. He is scheduled to return to court at 2 p.m. Feb. 4.
