Laura McIntyre, 42, was last seen around 9 p.m. Monday while on the job cleaning an office in outer Herndon, according to her mother, Sheri King.

King told Patch McIntyre’s car was found near the office with her cell phone and medication inside. Her purse and car keys were later found in the office near her cleaning supplies.

King, who lives in Florida, said she and her daughter were supposed to talk that evening.

“We had been in contact every day, and she said she would call me after her cleaning job,” King told Patch over the phone from Florida. “I was not surprised when she didn’t call me Monday night. She gets off so late at night. … I texted her [Tuesday] at 1 p.m. When I did not hear from her, I knew something was odd.”

King said McIntyre was in the process of breaking up with her boyfriend, but the two were still living together. McIntyre’s boyfriend went out to the office complex after she wasn’t seen in the apartment Tuesday morning, King said.

The boyfriend called King when he found her car. King then instructed him to contact the police.

Fairfax County Police public information officer Don Gotthardt confirmed to Patch on Wednesday that a missing person's report was filed on Tuesday evening at 10:45 p.m. He said detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses.

McIntyre stands about 5-foot-4 and weighs approximately 180 pounds, according to King. She has highlighted, blondish-looking hair and has light, pale skin. She lives in Springfield and is a graduate of T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria.

King said she is extremely worried about her daughter.

“She’s a very responsible person,” King said. “She would never disappear without telling someone.”
