FCPD Chief Apologizes to Masters Family

But family of David Masters, who was killed by a Fairfax County police officer in 2009, not content with apology, according to the Washington Post

Fairfax County Police Chief David M. Rohrer has apologized to the family members of David Masters, but the relatives of the unarmed man shot by a police officer in 2009 remain dissatisfied.

According to the Washington Post, Rohrer apologized to Masters' ex-wife before his blood relatives—a decision that offended his parents. 

The father of the victim, Barry Masters, said Rohrer only apologized after Barry Masters made an an inquiry.

Gail Masters, the victim's ex-wife and executor of his will, went out to the police shooting range where David Master's Chevy Blazer was located.

Gail Masters told the Washington Post she almost fainted when she saw the bloody car that had been left exposed outside. Her ex-husband's tools are missing from the car too, she said.

Masters was fatally shot in 2009 at a traffic stop on Richmond Highway and Fort Hunt Road. The officer responsible for shooting Masters, David Scott Ziants,  for improper use of deadly force following an internal investigation.
