Fire Department Responds to Mulch Fire in Franconia

Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department responded to a call Sunday morning about a mulch fire in the Franconia area. According to the fire department, they received the call around 8:52 a.m.

The fire was located near 6200 Farrington Avenue near train tracks, according to the department'a public information office. The department requested that trains cease while firefighters put out the fire.

Around 11 a.m., trains were allowed to proceed on the tracks once firefighters were able to put out the fire.
