Firefighters Need Help at Friday Blood Drive

MedSTAR Burn Center treated five Washington D.C. firefighters who were injured while battling a house fire in the early hours of April 8. Area firefighters are returning the favor by hosting a blood drive to help replenish the burn center's reserves.

Appointments are available Friday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. at Fairfax County Fire Station 40 (4621 Legato Rd.). Click here to sign up.

The MedSTAR Burn Center at the Washington Hospital Center is one of the leading centers for burn treatment in the nation. All area firefighters go there if burned on the job.

Fairfax County Professional Fire Fighters and Paramedics and the Northern Virginia Fraternal Order of Leatherheads Society partnered to organize this event.
