Firefighters Respond to Fire at Greenspring in Springfield

No injuries, no one reportedly displaced, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

A two-alarm fire sent firefighters to Greenspring retirement community in Springfield late Monday afternoon.

The call for help came at 4:34 p.m. and multiple fire trucks from the county responded, according to a Fairfax County Fire and Rescue spokeswoman.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the third-floor apartment was ventilating at about 5:20 p.m. No one was injured and there were no calls for assistance for being displaced, the spokeswoman said.

No word yet on what caused the fire.
