Franconia District Neighborhoods Participating in National Night Out

The event is scheduled for Aug. 6.

National Night Out 2013 is scheduled for Aug. 6. Various events are planned in different neighborhoods all over Fairfax County from 6-9 p.m.

The Franconia District Police Station is currently preparing for these events. Some neighborhoods have registered with FCPD to participate in the Lights On Campaign, where residents in a neighborhood have decided to turn on their outside lights from 6-9 p.m. instead of planning an event.

Franconia District has the following neighborhoods registered for events for National Night Out:

National Night Out involves communities in coming together to plan block parties or smaller group events to meet each other and support crime and drug prevention in Fairfax County. The size of these events differ for each neighborhood and is totally up to the community. When you register your neighborhood's event, FCPD will arrange for an officer to stop by your community.

If you don't see your neighborhood listed and you have planned an event for your community, or if your community is interested in participating in the Lights On Campaign, contact MPO Jim Reid at (703) 922-8263.
