Franconia District Police Report: Tires Slashed—for Fourth Time

A summary of incidents reported for June 3-9.

Here are the incidents that were included in the Franconia District Crime Summary for the week of June 3-9: 

Police Service Area 610

  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 7200 Block of GREENVILLE PL, 6/4/12. An individual returned home to find that his home had been broken into; jewelry and medication were stolen.
  • Destruction of Property, 7000 Block of COMMERCE ST, 6/4/12. Graffiti spray-painted on an electrical box.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft, 7300 Block of CHARLOTTE ST, 6/4/12. An individual’s vehicle was borrowed and not returned.
  • Destruction of Property, 6900 Block of BEN FRANKLIN RD, 6/5/12. Fence locks and door to circuit breaker of a house broken.
  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 6500 Block of SPRING RD, 6/6/12. An individual returned home to find that his home had been broken into; jewelry was stolen.
  • Counterfeiting/Forgery, 6200 Block of BACKLICK RD, 6/8/12. An individual attempted to cash a fraudulent check.
  • Fraud, 6900 Block of HIGHLAND ST, 6/8/12. An individual stole the identity of another and presented it by phone, in an effort to defraud the victim into providing a down payment to rent a house.  The house is not for rent.
  • Larceny, 7400 Block of HASTINGS ST, 6/8/12. A work van was broken into and items were stolen.
  • Larceny, 7100 Block of ESSEX AVE, 6/8/12. A work van was broken into and tools were stolen.
  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 7200 Block of OLD KEENE MILL RD, 6/9/12. A construction site was broken into and tools were stolen.
  • Larceny, 7400 Block of SPRING VILLAGE DR, 6/9/12. An individual’s vehicle was broken into and a bag containing jewelry and other items was stolen.
  • Robbery, ORIOLE AVE / SPRING RD, 6/9/12. A suspect was arrested following the robbery of a visually impaired victim. Click for more details.

  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 7300 Block of LAYTON DR, 6/3/12. Police apprehended an individual leaving the premises of a residence he had broken into.
  • Destruction of Property, 6700 Block of METROPOLITAN CENTER DR, 6/3/12.  An individual reported that her four tires had been slashed for the fourth time.
  • Larceny, 4200 Block of DUVAWN ST, 6/3/12. An individual reported that her wallet and other valuables were stolen from her home after an individual entered without permission.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of WOODLAND STREAM DR, 6/4/12. An individual failed to pay a taxi fare.
  • Drugs, FRONTIER DR / SPRING MALL RD, 6/5/12. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/5/12. Shoplifiting.
  • Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/5/12. An individual’s wallet was stolen after it was left on a store counter.
  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 6000 Block of DEER RIDGE TRL, 6/6/12. An individual returned home to find that her home had been broken into; jewelry and cash were stolen.
  • Larceny, 6500 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/6/12. An individual’s wallet was stolen after it was left unattended in a store.
  • Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/7/12. Shoplifting.
  • Drugs, 6100 Block of OLD FRANCONIA RD, 6/8/12. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Embezzlement, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/8/12. A store employee was caught adding coupon credits to gift cards, which he subsequently placed in his pocket.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 6/8/12. Shoplifting.
  • Destruction of Property, 5800 Block of SABLE DR, 6/9/12. An individual reported that an acquaintance was damaging his vehicle.
  • Destruction of Property, 6000 Block of HEATHERWOOD DR, 6/9/12. An individual reported that the protective glass on a light pole in his front yard was broken.
  • Drugs, 6200 Block of ALFORTH AVE, 6/9/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of drugs.
  • Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/9/12. Shoplifting.

Police Service Area 630

  • Destruction of Property, 5800 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 6/5/12. Vehicle windshield smashed.
  • Drugs, 7600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 6/5/12. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Larceny, 6500 Block of TRASK TER, 6/5/12. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Larceny, 6600 Block of DUNWICH WAY, 6/5/12. A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Larceny, 7200 Block of WORSLEY WAY, 6/5/12. A GPS, cash and other items were stolen from three unlocked vehicles.
  • Larceny, 7200 Block of LENSFIELD CT, 6/5/12. Credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Larceny, 5900 Block of WESCOTT HILLS WAY, 6/5/12. Items were stolen from seven vehicles, most of which had been left unlocked.
  • Larceny, 6500 Block of TRASK TER, 6/5/12. Change was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
  • Larceny, 6600 Block of CASTLE BAR CT, 6/5/12. Various items were stolen from five different unlocked vehicles.
  • Larceny, 5400 Block of CLONMEL CT, 6/5/12. A portable DVD player was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of ROSE HILL DR, 6/7/12. Shoplifting.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft, 7000 Block of GATTON SQ, 6/8/12. A motor vehicle was stolen.
