Extortion/Gang Recruitment/Gang Participation/Arrest
Police charged a 13-year-old boy on Thursday, March 3 after he allegedly made threats against another teen and his family. The Annandale teen was charged with extortion, gang recruitment and gang participation after he reportedly made a series of threats of bodily harm and violence against a fellow Poe Middle School student if the victim did not comply with his demands for cash.

Accidental Death
Police responded to a report of a body on the railroad tracks near Pohick Road and I95 around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 5. Detectives from the Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate and determined that the victim had been struck by a train. Read more on .

Burglary
The Cricket cell phone store, located at 7313 Little River Turnpike, was burglarized around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 6. The suspect smashed a window and stole several cell phones.
Malicious Wounding
A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed an acquaintance, a 41-year- old woman, in the lower body in the 5500 block of Burgundy Place around 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8. The suspect fled and the victim was transported to the hospital with non life- threatening injuries. Police obtained a malicious wounding warrant for the suspect.
