Incidents Blotter: Possession of Stolen Property

18-year-old allegedly steals car, crashes it, and flees

Every week, the Fairfax County Police Department releases a list of criminal incidents reported in the past week. Here are the major incidents in the Franconia District from June 8 through June 15:

Grand Larceny Auto/Possession of Stolen Property/Hit and Run/Arrest

Police arrested the driver of a 2010 Honda Ridgeline after he fled the scene of a crash on Sunday, June 12 around 2:40 p.m. in the 6600 block of Briarleigh Way. An investigation determined the driver of the Ridgeline truck, Jeffrey T. Mullin, 18, of 14391 Dunwoodie Court in Gainesville, reportedly stole the vehicle the night before from a home in the Gainesville area. After crashing the truck, he fled the scene and was located by officers nearby. Mullin was also found to be in possession of stolen property reportedly stolen from other vehicles in the Gainesville area. Jeffrey Mullin was charged with grand larceny auto, possession of stolen property and hit and run.
