Incidents Blotter: Robbery on Backlick Road

Two men allegedly assault their roommate in Springfield

Each week, the Fairfax County Police Department's Franconia District Station releases a list of incidents in the Franconia District. Here are the incidents from April 20 to April 27.


Robbery 

A 23-year-old woman was robbed by a man in a parking lot in the 6200 block of Backlick Road around 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26. The victim exited a store and was getting into her car when the suspect approached, reached through the window and grabbed cash from her hand. The suspect fled. He was described as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 155 pounds, with short curly black hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and tan boots, carrying a dark-colored backpack. The victim was not injured.

Malicious Wounding/Arrest

 Two men assaulted their roommate, a 38-year-old man, at their home in the 6800 block of Supreme Court around 2:15 a.m. on Friday, April 22. Said O. Ansary, 49, and Mohammed H. Omar, 50, both of 6801 Supreme Court in Springfield, were each charged with malicious wounding. The victim was taken to the hospital with non life- threatening injuries.

Police-Involved Shooting

Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, April 22 around 5:30 p.m.

Robbery

A 16-year-old boy was robbed by two men while walking in the 5900 block of Kingstowne Towne Center around 10:42 p.m. on Saturday, April 23.

Traffic Pursuit/Arrest

Fairfax County officers assisted the Virginia State Police in a pursuit of a suspect in the area of Franconia Road and Interstate 95 around 2 a.m. on Sunday, April 24.
