Kingstowne Woman Dies in Fatal Car Crash in Springfield

The 62-year-old was leaving a shopping center near Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill Road when her car veered off and struck a tree.

A 62-year-old woman died on Tuesday after her car veered off the road and struck a tree.

According to a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department, Dinh Quy, a resident of the 6200 block of William Edgar Drive in Alexandria, was driving in the parking lot of the shopping center near Rolling Road and Old Keene Mill Road in Springfield shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

After leaving the shopping center parking lot, Quy headed north on Rolling Road. Once through the intersection at Old Keene Mill Road, her 2009 Toyota Corolla veered off to the left and struck a stree on the west side of Rolling Road.

Quy was pronounced dead a short time later, the release further states.

Police are still investigating the crash and do not know if alcohol, speed, or other factors such as a medical condition contributed to the crash.
