Lincolnia Home Searched For Synthetic Marijuana

Police take capsules, 6 guns, scales from house

Police searched a Lincolnia home Sunday on suspicions that it was being used to produce synthetic marijuana, according to a search warrant.

Police found a variety of capsules and solvents, as well as ammunition and firearms.

The townhouse came to police attention when officers on patrol tried to serve an arrest warrant there, according to an affidavit filed by an undercover officer in the Fairfax County Police Department. A person in the building gave police permission to enter to search for the person they were trying to serve.

While searching the townhouse's basement, according to the affidavit, an officer noticed baggies, a digital scale, white powder, "a green leafy substance," and drug paraphernalia.

The officers called the undercover officer, who found containers holding chemicals in the basement. The "green leafy substance", according the officer, was synthetic marijuana, nicknamed "spice." The synthetic drug is made by combining chemicals to evoke the feeling of using marijuana.
