More Than 35 Vehicles Shot with BB Guns

Police say the May attacks caused thousands of dollars in damages.

BB gun attacks caused thousands of dollars in damage to residents' cars between May 14 and May 17, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Police say that more than 35 vehicles had dents or had their windows shot-out by one or more vandals using BB guns at night. Most of the attacks occurred in Kingstowne, according to an FCPD press release.

Police say anyone who sees something suspicious, like a car that is being driven slowly in an neighborhood but doesn't stop or drop someone off, should call 703-691-2131. Anyone who sees someone in a car shooting a weapon should call 911.

BB gun attacks also occurred last year in Kingstowne. over Labor Day weekend caused $15,000 in damages. Damages estimates from the attacks in mid-May are not yet available.
