New Child Pornography Charges Against Alexandria Teacher

Justin Coleman allegedly had images of his own students

A grand jury indicted an Alexandria elementary school teacher on additional child pornography charges today, including a charge that he possessed pornography featuring his own students.

Justin Coleman, 35, on April 6 and charged with possessing child pornography, as the result of an Immigrations and Customs Enforcement investigation. The new charges against Coleman are two counts of producing child pornography, receiving child pornography, and possessing modified child pornography.

According to the indictment, Coleman produced two videos of minor girls committing sexual activities. He is also accused of attempting to convince five other girls to engage in sexual activity so he could produce child pornography.

Coleman even attempted to produce child pornography in Italy, the indictment alleges. In the summer of 2010, Coleman was teaching at a summer camp in that country, and allegedly attempted to convince two minor girls to engage in sexual activity for child pornography production.

Finally, Coleman is accused of possessing pornography that was digitally altered to make it appear like the girls in the images were former students of Coleman's from Japan and Alexandria.

On Monday, the prosecution and defense jointly requested more time to before the indictment, in order to allow the two sides more time to reach a plea agreement. The request was denied by U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema on Tuesday.
