No Charges for Police Officer Involved in Fatal Shooting

PFC J. Kevin Clark will not face charges after shooting and killing an armed suspect in May.

The Fairfax County Police Department announced Monday that PFC J. Kevin Clarke will not face charges after , resulting in the death of 22-year-old Gray Alan Combs. 

Officers received reports that Combs, who had seven outstanding warrants involving child pornography and sex with a minor, was hiding out in the apartment. After their arrival, Combs threatened the officers with a sword and failed to comply with their orders.  

According to a statement released by the police, Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney Raymond F. Morrogh said that he "finds no basis for criminal liability" against Clarke.

Clarke has been with the department for 12 years and is currently assigned to the K-9 section.
