Police Arrest Teen in Child Abduction

Police believe alleged abductor had sexual motives

A teenager has been charged with abducting a young girl from her bedroom in Springfield last month.

The 16-year-old male Springfield resident has been charged with burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with intent to defile, aggravated malicious wounding, and object sexual penetration. Fairfax County police have not released the suspect's name because he is a minor.

The teen is accused of abducting a 5-year-old girl from her bedroom on the 7000 block of Brocton Court. According to police, the girl was then taken and assaulted in some woods behind her home. The girl's parents only discovered she was missing when she returned to their home at 4 a.m. that morning. She had suffered non-life-threatening trauma to her upper body.
