Man charged with assaulting acquaintance with a knife

Robbery
Three men robbed a 19-year-old man in the 8900 block of Harrover Place around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. They stole his wallet and fled. The victim declined medical attention.

Assault and Battery/Burglary Armed With a Weapon/Arrest
Police arrested a man for burglarizing a home in the 7200 block of Commerce Street and assaulting an acquaintance, a 35-year-old woman, around 10:40 p.m. on Monday, March 21. The suspect was allegedly armed with a knife. Nelson Zelaya, 23, of 7212 Commerce Street #103 in Springfield, was charged with assault and battery and burglary armed with a weapon. The victim did not require medical attention.

Fatal Crash
Crash Reconstruction detectives are investigating a fatal crash that occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday, March 21. Their investigation determined a 32-year-old man was operating a 2008 Ford Fastran bus north on Richmond Highway in the far right lane. .
