Foreclosed home damaged

Every week, the Franconia Police District releases a list of reported crimes in the area, and Patch highlights some. Here's the blotter from June 5 to June 11.

Notable

Motorcyclist Hit: On June 10, a man told police that a vehicle deliberately tried to hit him while he drove his motorcycle at the Franconia-Springfield Parkway and Walker Lane. His saddle bag was damaged.

Foreclosed Home Damaged: On June 9, a woman reported to police that a foreclosed home she had just purchased was damaged, with much of the property destroyed. The home is on the 9000 block of Arch Hall Road.

 

Kingstowne

Destruction of Private Property, 6000 Block of CURTIER DR, 6/5/11. An individual reported that three of his tires and the cover to his Jeep had been slashed for the second time.

Destruction of Private Property, 5200 Block of BALLYCASTLE CIR, 6/5/11. An individual reported that a rock was thrown through her basement window; entry was not gained.

Destruction of Private Property, 7100 Block of LAKE COVE DR, 6/6/11. An individual reported that her son had taken her cell phone and thrown it into the community pond.

Fraud, 6100 Block of ROSE HILL DR, 6/6/11. The manager of a store reported that she wired money to an individual who claimed that money was owed to her to settle a claim; however, the claim was fraudulent.

Larceny, 7900 Block of ANGLETON CT, 6/6/11. A business owner reported that landscaping tools and equipment were missing from a storage yard.

Destruction of Private Property, DUNWICH WAY / LAKE VILLAGE DR, 6/7/11. An individual reported that her driver’s side window had been broken; nothing appeared to be missing.

Destruction of Public Property, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 6/8/11. An individual returned to his vehicle to find both driver’s side tires flat and the windshield broken.

Larceny, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 6/8/11. Two individuals reported that their iPod Touch had been stolen from a locker room.

Larceny, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 6/8/11. An individual reported that cash had been stolen from a locker room.

Larceny, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 6/8/11. An individual reported that a Northface backpack and cash had been stolen from a locker room.

Larceny, 8300 Block of STATIONHOUSE CT, 6/8/11. An individual returned to her vehicle to find her driver’s side door open and the face plate to her radio was stolen.

Destruction of Private Property, 6400 Block of WATERFIELD RD, 6/9/11. An individual reported that his air conditioning unit had been knocked over.

Larceny, 5700 Block of KINGSTOWNE BLVD, 6/10/11. An individual attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

 

Franconia/Rose Hill

Fraud, 5900 Block of FOUNDERS HILL DR, 6/5/11. An individual reported that unauthorized transactions were made on his credit card.

Destruction of Private Property, 6200 Block of CLARA EDWARD TER, 6/5/11. An individual reported seeing a vehicle with its window smashed out.

Larceny, 6200 Block of FARRINGTON AVE, 6/5/11. An individual reported that cash was stolen from his vehicle after it was towed.

Stolen Property, 5900 Block of CLERMONT DR, 6/5/11. A suspect attempted to store stolen property on another individual’s property.

Burglary, 4400 Block of CHEATHAM CT, 6/6/11. An individual returned home to find that her jewelry had been stolen; entry was likely gained through a back door.

Drugs, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/6/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/6/11. Two individuals attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

Tax Violation, 5900 Block of COVERDALE WAY, 6/6/11. An individual was attempting to sell a cleaning product without a license.

Burglary, 6800 Block of DYER CT, 6/7/11. An individual reported that her LCD television and her safe, containing a large amount of money, were missing from her house.

Larceny, 5700 Block of BARBMOR CT, 6/7/11. An individual reported that her son’s lacrosse stick and a hockey goal had been stolen.

Larceny, 5900 Block of ASHBY MANOR PL, 6/7/11. An individual reported that items were stolen from his vehicle, which was left unlocked in his open garage overnight.

Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/8/11. Two individuals attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/8/11. An individual exited a store without paying for merchandise.

Larceny, 5800 Block of LEBANON RD, 6/9/11. An individual reported that his laptop computer had been stolen from his vehicle.

Larceny, 5800 Block of WESTCHESTER ST, 6/9/11. An individual reported that his wallet was stolen from his vehicle.

Larceny, 6000 Block of SUMNER RD, 6/9/11. An iPod Nano and a camera were stolen from an individual’s vehicle.

Larceny, 5400 Block of ANNE LY LN, 6/9/11. An individual reported that his iPhone was stolen from his vehicle.

Larceny, 5700 Block of WESTCHESTER ST, 6/9/11. An individual reported that cash was stolen from his vehicles.

Destruction of Private Property, FRANCONIA SPRINGFIELD PKWY / WALKER LN, 6/10/11. An individual reported that he was purposely hit on his motorcycle by another vehicle; his saddle bag was damaged.

Drugs, 6400 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 6/10/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Drugs, ELMWOOD DR / TRANQUIL CT, 6/10/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 6/11/11. An individual attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

 

East Springfield

Larceny, 6300 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 6/5/11. An individual attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

Larceny, 5700 Block of ASH DR, 6/5/11. After a report of suspicious persons looking into cars, officers found that the suspicious individuals were in possession of a GPS that did not belong to them.

Larceny, 7200 Block of WESLEY RD, 6/6/11. An individual reported that her daughter’s bicycle had been stolen from their carport.

Larceny, 5700 Block of HANOVER AVE, 6/7/11. An individual reported that his front, passenger-side window had been broken and that his GPS, a point-and-shoot camera, and a flash light had been stolen.

Tampering, 7200 Block of JOHN RYLAND WAY, 6/7/11. An individual reported that the right, rear window of his vehicle had been broken and that there were scratches on the car; nothing appeared to be missing.

Fraud, 6300 Block of AMHERST AVE, 6/8/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual verbally provided false identification.

Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 6/10/11. An individual attempted to exit a grocery store without paying for merchandise.

Fraud, 6300 Block of HANOVER AVE, 6/11/11. Unauthorized transactions were made on an individual’s credit card.

Larceny, 6300 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 6/11/11. An individual attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

 

Annandale/Bren Mar

Drugs, 6500 Block of EDSALL RD, 6/5/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Fraud, 4500 Block of EXETER ST, 6/7/11. An unauthorized withdrawal was made from an ATM.

Larceny, 5500 Block of BACKLICK RD, 6/7/11. An individual drove off without paying for gas.

Larceny, LITTLE RIVER TPKE / LOGSDON DR, 6/8/11. An individual reported that tools and equipment were stolen from his company truck.

Larceny, 7200 Block of LITTLE RIVER TPKE, 6/10/11. An individual failed to pay his taxi cab driver.

Destruction of Private Property, 7000 Block of SKYLES WAY, 6/11/11. An individual reported that a rock was thrown at her window and broke the glass.

 

Lorton

Larceny, 10200 Block of BELMONT BLVD, 6/6/11. An individual returned to find that his tools had been stolen.

Robbery, LORTON RD / LORTON MARKET ST, 6/6/11. An individual was approached by a suspect who demanded that the individual turn over his belongings. When the individual refused, the suspect attempted to punch him in the face and a struggle ensued. The individual was able to get away with minor injuries.

Drugs, ASPENPARK RD / WOUNDED KNEE RD, 6/7/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larceny, 7700 Block of GUNSTON PLZ, 6/9/11. An individual placed his satchel on the floor in a store, and it was promptly stolen.

Larceny, 9000 Block of ARCH HALL RD, 6/9/11. An individual returned to find a foreclosed home that she had just purchased to have been damaged with much of the property destroyed.

Destruction of Private Property, 7600 Block of OAKRIDGE WOODS CT, 6/11/11. An individual reported that someone had sprayed his truck with gray paint and then attempted to sand it off.

Tax Violation, 7700 Block of GUNSTON PLZ, 6/11/11. An individual was attempting to sell a cleaning product without a license.

Tax Violation, 7800 Block of CRANFORD FARM CIR, 6/11/11. An individual was attempting to sell a cleaning product without a license.
