Police Blotter: Smoke Bomb

Every week, the Franconia Police District releases a list of reported crimes in the area, and Patch highlights some. Here's the blotter from July 3 to July 9.

Notable

Smoke Bomb: On July 5 on the 7100 block of Bonniemill Lane, a smoke bomb was thrown into a parked car that had its windows down.

Stolen Ramps: On July 7, an individual reported that several ramps for the handicapped were stolen from Edison High School.

Destruction of Private Property, GREENDALE VILLAGE DR / SANDYFORD ST, 7/3/11. An individual reported that his driver’s side window was broken out.

Destruction of Private Property, HORGAN CT / MCKENNA WAY, 7/3/11. An individual’s driver’s side windows were broken out.

Destruction of Private Property, 5200 Block of PLEASURE COVE CT, 7/3/11. An individual’s driver’s side windows were broken out.

Larceny, 5800 Block of HELMSDALE LN, 7/3/11. Two bikes were reported stolen from a backyard.

Destruction of Private Property, 5200 Block of PLEASURE COVE CT, 7/4/11. Several vehicles in theneighborhood had the driver’s side window broken out.

Destruction of Private Property, CANNES CT / DEVEREUX CIRCLE DR, 7/4/11. An individual reported that her car windows had been smashed out.

Destruction of Private Property, 5200 Block of CANNES CT, 7/4/11. Several vehicles were identified with their driver’s side windows broken out.

Drugs, 5100 Block of CELTIC DR, 7/4/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larceny, 5900 Block of KINGSTOWNE TOWNE CTR, 7/4/11. An individual left a PSP player in a store; when he returned, it was gone.

Larceny, 6200 Block of ROUDSBY LN, 7/4/11. An individual reported that her car had been ransacked and that items, including a GPS, had been stolen.

Larceny, 7400 Block of DIGBY GRN, 7/4/11. An individual reported that a cell phone charger had been stolen from her vehicle.

Larceny, 6100 Block of DONIVAL SQ, 7/4/11. An individual reported that a GPS was stolen from a vehicle, which was left unlocked.

Larceny, 6100 Block of SUMMER PARK LN, 7/4/11. An individual reported that several items were stolen from his vehicle, including sunglasses, a stereo audio cable, and a GPS mount. The GPS stand was removed from the vehicle and recovered in the street.

Destruction of Private Property, 6500 Block of OLD CARRIAGE WAY, 7/5/11. An individual reported that her storm door was broken.

Destruction of Private Property, 7900 Block of CONELL CT, 7/5/11. Entry was gained onto business property by cutting a chain link fence.

Larceny, 6100 Block of DONIVAL SQ, 7/5/11. An individual reported that her car had been ransacked and that items had been stolen.

Larceny, 6100 Block of MANCHESTER PARK CIR, 7/5/11. An individual returned to his car to find all four tires and rims stolen; the car was left on landscaping pavers.

Destruction of Private Property, 7000 Block of FIELDHURST CT, 7/7/11. An individual reported that two window panes had been broken by a BB gun.

Drugs, 7400 Block of BEULAH ST, 7/7/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Larceny, 7700 Block of HAYFIELD RD, 7/8/11. An individual reported that the registration year sticker was stolen off of his vehicle.

Larceny, 5700 Block of KINGSTOWNE BLVD, 7/8/11. An individual attempted to exit a store without paying for merchandise.

Destruction of Private Property, 6600 Block of THURLTON DR, 7/9/11. An individual reported that his vehicle window was damaged.

Disorderly Conduct, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 7/9/11. Individuals who snuck into a recreation center became aggressive after being confronted.

East Springfield

Destruction of Private Property, 7100 Block of BONNIEMILL LN, 7/5/11. An individual reported that a suspect threw a smoke bomb into her parked car, which had its windows open.

Drugs, 7200 Block of BEVERLY PARK DR, 7/6/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Fraud, 7400 Block of SPRING VILLAGE DR, 7/6/11. An individual was told that she would have to wire a large sum of cash to Miami, Florida, in order to bail her nephew out of jail.

Destruction, 6800 Block of BEN FRANKLIN RD, 7/7/11. A citizen reported that graffiti was spray painted on a fence.

Larceny, 7200 Block of OLD KEENE MILL RD, 7/7/11. An individual exited a store without paying for merchandise.

Forgery, 6900 Block of HECHINGER DR, 7/8/11. A business reported that it had received a counterfeit $5.00 bill.

Tax Violation, 7000 Block of BACKLICK RD, 7/9/11. An individual was found to be soliciting without a license.

Franconia/Rose Hill

Burglary, 5900 Block of MONTELL DR, 7/3/11. An individual returned home to find that his home had been burglarized. A humidor, cigars, a laptop, and several gift cards were stolen.

Destruction of Private Property, 5700 Block of HABERSHAM WAY, 7/3/11. An individual reported that his motorcycle headlight was smashed.

Destruction of Private Property, 5600 Block of OVERLY DR, 7/3/11. An individual reported that her vehicle had been shot with a BB gun.

Destruction of Private Property, 5800 Block of CHRYSANTHEMUM DR, 7/3/11. An individual reported that the driver’s side window of his vehicle had been broken.

Larceny, 5500 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 7/3/11. An individual accidentally left his wallet at the gas station counter; when he returned, it was gone.

Stolen Property (Recovered), 6100 Block of LEEWOOD DR, 7/3/11. An officer identified a vehicle that had been stolen.

Destruction of Private Property, 5800 Block of BUSH HILL DR, 7/4/11. An individual reported that his vehicle’s windows were smashed.

Larceny, 6100 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 7/4/11. An individual took brake fluid from a gas station without paying and then drove off with the gas hose still attached.

Drugs, BROOKVIEW CT / BROOKVIEW DR, 7/5/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

False Report of a Crime, 6300 Block of WALKER LN, 7/5/11. An individual made up a fraudulent claim about being robbed.

Larceny, 6400 Block of CORY PL, 7/6/11. An individual reported that a laptop was stolen from his vehicle.

ABC Violation, 4500 Block of PICOT RD, 7/7/11. Underage individuals were found to be drinking alcohol.

Larceny, 5800 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 7/7/11. An individual reported that several handicap ramps were stolen from a high school.

Larceny, 6200 Block of ROSE HILL DR, 7/7/11. An individual’s bike was stolen from outside of a library.

Larceny, 6300 Block of ZEKAN LN, 7/7/11. A citizen reported that a camera, a ring, and some cash were stolen from a vehicle.

Destruction of Private Property, 6000 Block of JENNINGS LN, 7/8/11. An individual reported that her vehicle was dented for the second time.

Drugs, CLERMONT DR / FRANCONIA RD, 7/8/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Weapon, I95 SB RAMP TO I95 SB / OLD KEENE MILL RD WB TO I95 SB, 7/8/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of a concealed weapon.

Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 7/9/11. Two individuals attempted to leave a store without paying for merchandise.

Annandale/Bren Mar

Destruction of Private Property, 5100 Block of COLEBROOK PL, 7/3/11. An individual reported that his SUV was keyed and a tire was slashed.

Larceny, 5600 Block of BELLINGTON AVE, 7/3/11. An individual reported that peaches were stolen from his peach tree.

Drugs, LITTLE RIVER TPKE / WILLOW RUN DR, 7/5/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Auto Theft, 5500 Block of VINCENT GATE TER, 7/7/11. An individual reported that his work van was stolen.

Larceny, 7000 Block of LEEBRAD ST, 7/7/11. An individual reported that four tires and rims were stolen from his vehicle, which was left on blocks.

Larceny, 7100 Block of LARRLYN DR, 7/7/11. An individual reported that two watches, a subwoofer, and amplifier were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

Larceny, 7100 Block of BYRNELEY LN, 7/7/11. An individual reported that his wallet and business cards were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.

Larceny, 5500 Block of HARRINGTON FALLS LN, 7/7/11. An individual reported that a vehicle had all four wheels stolen. Furthermore, the front windows were smashed and a vehicle’s radio was stolen.

Larceny, 5500 Block of VINCENT GATE TER, 7/8/11. An individual reported that her passenger window was smashed and that her CD player and wheel lock were stolen.

Lorton

Destruction of Private Property, 9600 Block of PARSON MASSEY PL, 7/3/11. An individual reported that the roof of his vehicle was damaged.

DWI Alcohol, 9400 Block of LORTON MARKET ST, 7/4/11. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

Destruction of Private Property, 9500 Block of HAGEL CIR, 7/5/11. An individual reported that subjects had gained access to the pool and smashed a vending machine.

Drugs, TIMARAND CT / TIMARAND DR, 7/6/11. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.

Robbery, 7700 Block of GUNSTON PLZ, 7/6/11. An individual reported that he was returning from 7-11 when he was attacked by 3-4 male subjects.

Robbery, 6500 Block of POHICK BAY DR, 7/9/11. A parking attendant reported that she was robbed at the entrance of a park.
