Some suspects wore dark clothing, carried backpacks

Fairfax County police detectives are investigating a series of ten burglaries in Franconia in January and February, although police do not know whether the incidents are connected.

The first five burglaries were committed between Jan. 30 and Feb. 13 at the following locations in the neighborhoods west and northwest of Kingstowne Village Parkway:

  • 5900 block of Edgewood Lane (two burglaries)
  • 5900 block of Clames Drive
  • 5700 block of Tremont Drive

All five burglaries took place during the daytime. Burglars stole money, jewelry, and electronics from the homes, according to police. In some cases, witnesses saw three people walking into backyards prior to the burglary, wearing dark clothing and carrying backpacks.
