The Fairfax County Police Department is currently investigating another incident that may be related to the series of assaults that have been happening mainly in the Springfield area since early September 2012.
In the latest incident, a 32-year-old woman reported that a man grabbed her from behind around 7 p.m. Tuesday while she was placing luggage into the trunk of her car in the 6400 block of Franconia Court, according to a FCPD news release. When the victim turned around, the man fled.
The woman described the suspect as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old and around 5 feet 10 inches tall. He wore a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a white ball cap. Police say this may be the 22nd incident in the area connected to this suspect.
Fairfax County Police are hosting a community meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at Crestwood Elementary School located at 6010 Hanover Street in Springfield to discuss the series of assaults and to address questions and comments from concerned residents of the community.
Officers will provide a briefing of the series of assaults along with crime prevention strategies that may help women from being victimized. A Spanish-speaking interpreter will also be present.

"The woman described the suspect as a white male, between 20 and 30 years old and around 5 feet 10 inches tall." Your racist comments are not welcome here.
And one thing that stands out to me is that these alleged "gropings" were done by a person, so how can they be illegal when people are not illegal. Also, I would like to add that "groper" is a terrible epithet with which to tag this lonely wanderer. So can we PLEASE just start referring to him or her as an “unsolicited physical affection provider”? Thank you, and welcome to the New Normal.
