Police: Man Arrested for Possession of Marijuana

The Fairfax County Police Department recently switched back from daily activity reports to weekly activity reports. The following information was supplied by FCPD in its recent weekly activity report released June 7. Arrests do not indicate a conviction

On the above map, the addresses are block numbers, not specific home or business addresses.

The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Franconia Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Robbery (red on map), 7:10 p.m., May 31, 6400 block of Telegraph Road, Officers responded for robbery in progress. An officer stopped the suspects who had driven away. Jarrett Banks, 19, of Alexandria, was charged with driving on a revoked license. Joshua Deck and Malcolm Sherman, both 18 and of Alexandria, were each charged with possession of marijuana. The 26-year-old male victim was not injured. The case is under investigation.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Narcotics (blue on map), 3:40 p.m., May 31, 6800 block of Springfield Boulevard, Officers were investigating a loud noise. They located evidence of possible narcotics violations. Hunter Meyer, 22, of Maryland, was charged with three counts of possession of narcotics. The case is still under investigation with additional charges pending.

Burglary (green on map), 7 a.m., May 31, 5500 block of Vine Street, An employee reported someone entered the business and stole a table. Forced entry was made through a fence.

Burglary (green on map), 10:25 a.m., June 1, 3700 block of Ivanhoe Lane, A resident reported someone entered the home but nothing was stolen. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

Pursuit (yellow on map), 8:35 p.m., June 5, Brookview Drive/Foldi Street, An officer initiated a traffic stop near Franconia Road and South Van Dorn Street. The vehicle allegedly accelerated away. Officers pursued the vehicle which eventually stopped on Brookview Drive. The driver, Tyree Ward, 26, of Alexandria, was charged with disregarding a stop light, driving on a suspended license, speed to elude, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

  • 6300 block of Beryl Road, radio from vehicle
  • 6500 block of Frontier Drive, purse from business
  • 7700 block of Island Creek Court, package from residence
  • 5800 block of Kingstowne Boulevard, purse from business
  • 6100 block of Manchester Lakes Drive, wallet from business
  • 5600 block of Norton Road, landscaping equipment from residence
  • 6400 block of Springfield Plaza, cell phones from business

Stolen Vehicles (pink on map):

  • 6200 block of Bren Mar Drive, 2006 Ford Econoline
  • 6400 block of Lignum Street, 1986 GMC truck
