Police Report: Arson, Burglaries and More

A summary of crimes reported in the Kingstowne area for Sept. 2-8. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Here are the incidents that were included in the Franconia District Crime Summary for the week of Sept. 2-8:  

Police Service Area 610

  • Larceny, 7300 Block of FLOYD AVE, 9/2/12.A work van was broken into; tools were stolen.
  • Drugs, 7200 Block of COMMERCE ST, 9/3/12. Following a traffic violation, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 9/4/12. Shoplifting.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of CUMBERLAND AVE, 9/5/12. Money orders were stolen from an office.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of DINWIDDIE ST, 9/5/12. A vehicle was broken into and power tools were stolen.
  • Larceny, 6000 Block of GRAYSON ST, 9/6/12. A truck was broken into; tools were stolen.
  • Weapon Law Violation, BACKLICK RD / INDUSTRIAL RD, 9/6/12. A bottle was thrown through the back window of a vehicle.
  • Drugs, BACKLICK RD / HIGHLAND ST, 9/6/12. Following a traffic violation, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Larceny, 6100 Block of FOX HILL ST, 9/7/12. A work van was broken into; tools were stolen.

  • Destruction of Property, 5900 Block of LANGTON DR, 9/2/12. A home was egged.
  • Larceny, 3400 Block of ELMWOOD DR, 9/2/12. Items were stolen from a bedroom.
  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 6100 Block of SQUIRE LN, 9/2/12. A home was broken into; jewelry was stolen.
  • Drugs, METRO PARK DR / WALKER LN, 9/2/12. Following a traffic violation, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
  • Fraud, FRONTIER DR RAMP TO RT7900 EB / RT7900 EB RAMP TO FRONTIER DR, 9/2/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual provided false identification.
  • Drugs, 6800 Block of DARBY LN, 9/2/12. Following a traffic violation, an individual was found to be in possession of drugs.
  • Fraud, 6700 Block of FRONTIER DR, 9/4/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual provided false identification.
  • Larceny, 6200 Block of FRANCONIA FOREST LN, 9/5/12. An iPod was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft, 6100 Block of WOODLAND STREAM DR, 9/5/12. A car, which had been left unlocked with keys in the console, had been stolen from a driveway.
  • Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 6200 Block of DUBIN DR, 9/5/12. A home was entered, possibly through an unlocked door. Cash and electronic items were stolen.
  • Larceny, 6200 Block of FRANCONIA FOREST LN, 9/6/12. Two unlocked vehicles were entered; cash and other items were stolen.
  • Larceny, 6600 Block of FLEET DR, 9/8/12. An iPhone was stolen from an office, where it had been charging in the wall outlet.

Police Service Area 630

  • Larceny, 7600 Block of HAYFIELD RD, 9/3/12. A locked vehicle was broken into; CDs and other items were stolen.
  • Arson, 7800 Block of CINDER BED RD, 9/4/12. The interior of a vehicle was set on fire.
  • Destruction of Property, 5600 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 9/6/12. A sliding glass door was broken by a thrown rock.
  • Destruction of Property, 6500 Block of BIRCHLEIGH WAY, 9/6/12. Red paint was poured on the rear window and trunk of a vehicle.
  • Destruction of Property, 6600 Block of FROST LAKE LN, 9/7/12. A patio door was damaged in a possible  attempt to enter the residence.
  • Drugs, ALFORTH AVE / BEULAH ST, 9/7/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
