Police Report: Cab Driver Robbed at Gunpoint

Every week, the Franconia District Police Station releases a report of the major incidents that occur in the district, which includes the greater Rose Hill area, from the previous week. Here are the incidents that occurred from Jan. 5 through Jan. 18. Keep in mind that these are reported incidents. A crime did not necessarily occur.
Robbery/Use of a Firearm in the Commission of Felony/Arrest
Police arrested a woman for allegedly robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint in the 6000 block of Marsham Court around 5:05 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8. Melissa G. Diaz-Marty, 21, of 860 South Greenbriar Street #321 in Arlington, was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The victim, a 30-year-old man, was not injured.

Vehicle Thefts
A motorcycle was reported stolen from the 6300 block of Beryl Road.

Larcenies
Tools and equiptment were stolen from a residence on the 6300 block of Cottonwood Drive.
An air compressor was stolen from a residence on the 3100 block of Elmwood Drive.
A moped was stolen from a residence on the 3700 block of Logan Court.
An iPod was stolen from a business on the 6600 block of Telegraph Road.
