Police Report: Drug Possessions, Mailbox Damages and More

Here are the incidents that were included in the Franconia District Crime Summary for the week of Aug. 5-11:  

Police Service Area 610

• Arson, 7200 Block of COMMERCE ST, 8/5/12. A vehicle appeared to have been purposely lit on fire; the vehicle was totaled.
• Larceny, 6300 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 8/5/12. Two individuals attempted shoplifting.
• Larceny, 6600 Block of BACKLICK RD, 8/7/12. Shoplifting.
• Destruction, 7300 Block of OLD KEENE MILL RD, 8/8/12. A vehicle window was broken, nothing was stolen.
• Drugs, BACKLICK RD / ESSEX AVE, 8/8/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of drugs.
• Drugs, 6200 Block of BACKLICK RD, 8/8/12. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
• Drugs, 6200 Block of BACKLICK RD, 8/8/12. An individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
• Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 7000 Block of BROOKFIELD PLZ, 8/10/12. The glass door to a business was shattered; cash was stolen from the cash register.
• Larceny, 6300 Block of SPRINGFIELD PLZ, 8/10/12. Two individuals shoplifted.

Police Service Area 620

• Destruction of Property,6300 Block of PIONEER DR, 8/5/12. The window of a van was shattered.
• Destruction of Property, 4100 Block of DUVAWN ST, 8/5/12. A trash can in the park was spray-painted with white paint.
• Destruction of Property, 6400 Block of KALMIA ST, 8/5/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Larceny, BEULAH ST / WALKER LN, 8/5/12. An individual reported that her vehicle had been stolen by an acquaintance following an argument.
• Motor Vehicle Theft, 4300 Block of CAPRICE CT, 8/5/12. A truck was stolen.
• Destruction of Property, 6600 Block of HACKBERRY ST, 8/6/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6800 Block of FRONTIER DR, 8/6/12. A county bus driver reported that a patron kicked and broke the bus door.
• Larceny, 657500 Block of FRONTIER DR, 8/6/12. Shoplifting.
• Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 8/6/12. Two individuals shoplifted.
• Motor Vehicle Theft, FRONTIER DR RAMP TO RT7900 EB/RT7900 WB TO FRONTIER DR SB, 8/6/12. An unsecured moped was stolen.
• Counterfeiting/Forgery, 4200 Block of JAVINS DR, 8/7/12. An individual reported that her Visa card had been fraudulently charged in New York, although the real card was still in her possession.
• Destruction of Property, 6000 Block of DEER RIDGE TRL, 8/7/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6800 Block of GREENLEAF ST, 8/7/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6000 Block of DEER RIDGE TRL, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, FRANCONIA RD/GROVEDALE DR, 8/8/12. The passenger-side mirror and antenna on a vehicle were damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6700 Block of METROPOLITAN CENTER DR, 8/8/12. Four tires on a vehicle were slashed.
• Destruction of Property, 6700 Block of ELDER AVE, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6800 Block of ELDER AVE, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6500 Block of HACKBERRY ST, 8/8/12. Two mailboxes were damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6700 Block of HACKBERRY ST, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6000 Block of DEER RIDGE TRL, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6100 Block of DEER RIDGE TRL, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6400 Block of GREENLEAF ST, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6500 Block of GREENLEAF ST, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6400 Block of INWOOD DR, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Destruction of Property, 6500 Block of FORSYTHIA ST, 8/8/12. A mailbox was damaged.
• Drugs, 6200 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 8/8/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
• Larceny, 8100 Block of LOISDALE RD, 8/8/12. The gates to a construction site were broken into. While there, suspects broken into containers and stole wire and tools.
• Larceny, TALAVERA CT / WOODFIELD ESTATES DR, 8/8/12. Vehicle tags were stolen.
• Drugs, 6200 Block of FRANCONIA RD, 8/9/12. Following a traffic stop, an individual was found to be in possession of marijuana.
• Larceny, 6400 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 8/9/12. Attempted shoplifting.
• Larceny, 6600 Block of SPRINGFIELD MALL, 8/10/12. Attempted shoplifting.
• Destruction of Property, 6400 Block of INWOOD DR, 8/11/12. An individual reported that an acquaintance had shattered one of her vehicle’s windows.
• Larceny, 5900 Block of FOUNDERS CROSSING CT, 8/11/12. The peep-hole of a front door was removed.
• Motor Vehicle Theft, 3900 Block of TOWANDA RD, 8/11/12. An officer identified a license plate on a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Police Service Area 630

• Destruction of Property, 6600 Block of TELEGRAPH RD, 8/6/12. Derogatory words were scratched on a donation box outside of a park.
• Larceny, 6900 Block of OLD BRENTFORD RD, 8/6/12. A metal license plate frame was stolen from a vehicle.
• Robbery, CASTLEWELLAN DR / SOUTH VAN DORN ST, 8/6/12. Two suspects attempted to rob two individuals outside of a pizza delivery restaurant.
• Burglary/Breaking & Entering, 6600 Block of BRIARLEIGH WAY, 8/7/12. A group of individuals known to each other broke into the back door of a residence and an assault ensued.
• Destruction of Property, 8100 Block of CINDER BED RD, 8/7/12. A vehicle was keyed.
• Destruction of Property, 6000 Block of KINGSTOWNE VILLAGE PKWY, 8/8/12. The windshields of two paving vehicles were smashed.
• Fraud, 7000 Block of MANCHESTER BLVD, 8/8/12. A bank employee reported that he had just received a fraudulent check; he determined that it was fraudulent after he contacted the check originator and learned that the check had not been authorized.
• Fraud, 5800 Block of KINGSTOWNE CTR, 8/8/12. An unattended wallet was stolen from a gas station. Credit cards were used.
• Larceny, 6500 Block of MORNING MEADOW DR, 8/8/12. An unattended cell phone was stolen.
• Larceny, 6200 Block of BERNARD AVE, 8/9/12. Two iPods were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
• Destruction of Property, 7800 Block of WORTHING CT, 8/10/12. A tire on a vehicle was slashed.
• Destruction of Property, 7900 Block of MORNING RIDE CT, 8/10/12. Two tires on a vehicle were slashed.
