Crimes last week in the Fairfax County Police Franconia District, which includes Kingstowne:

Attempted Robbery

Police responded to an attempted robbery on Wednesday, September 15 just before 9 p.m. A man assaulted a 48-year-old woman and tried to take her purse, but was unsuccessful. The suspect was described as Middle Eastern, between 22 and 28 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and between 155 and 175 pounds. He had black hair and fled in a 2-door, red Toyota.

Wheels, hood and airbags stolen from vehicle (Atlee Place, 5300 block)

Wallet stolen from business (Backlick Road, 6300 block)

Wallet stolen from business (Burgundy Road, 3700 block)

GPS stolen from vehicle (Cabin John Road, 6900 block)

Cell phone stolen from business (Cannon Lane, 5800 block)

iPod, social security card, driver's license, cash and bank cards stolen from vehicle (Cimarron Street, 6600 block)

Airport permit stolen from vehicle (Crown RoyalDrive/Oakwood Road)

Snacks stolen from school (Franconia Road, 6500 block)

Cash stolen from residence (Hibbling Avenue, 6100 block)

Tools stolen from vehicle (Joplin Street, 5500 block)

Purse stolen from vehicle (Kingstowne Towne Center, 5900 block)

Tools stolen from vehicle (Roundhill Road, 4400 block)

Pavers stone stolen from residence (Split Creek Lane, 6200 block)

Floor stripping machine stolen from business (Springfield Boulevard, 6800 block)
