Police Report: Franconia Man Tampers with Vehicles

A Mazda was stolen near S Van Dorn Street.

Every week, the Franconia District Police Station releases a report of the major incidents that occur in the district, which includes the greater Rose Hill area, from the previous week. Here are the incidents that occurred from November 3 to November 10. Keep in mind that these are reported incidents. A crime did not necessarily occur.

Petit Larceny/Vehicle Tampering/Arrest

Police arrested two men for breaking into two vehicles in the area of Supreme Court and Villa Park Road around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4. Joseph L. Newton, 20, of 7092 Spring Garden Drive in Springfield, and Michael B. Hamm, 18, of 3704 Franconia Road in Alexandria, were each charged with two counts of petit larceny and two counts of vehicle tampering.

Vehicle Theft

A 1998 Mazda Protege was reported stolen from the 6000 Knights Ridge Way.

Larcenies

Construction tools were stolen from a vehicle on the 6100 block of Hyacinth Drive.
