Police Report: July 7-13, 2011

A summary of the criminal activity in the greater Rose Hill area.

Every week, the Franconia District Police Station releases a report of the major incidents that occur in the district, which includes the greater Rose Hill area, from the previous week. Here are the incidents that occurred from July 7 to July 13. Keep in mind that these are reported incidents. A crime did not necessarily occur.

Destruction of Private Property

Fairfax County Crime Solvers is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for vandalizing at least 38 vehicles in the Rose Hill area in one night. During the late evening hours of Wednesday, June 15, into the early morning hours of Thursday, June 16, the suspects used a blunt object to damage and break the side view mirrors on parked vehicles on several neighboring streets. Affected streets include: Picot Road, Norton Road, Craft Road, Javins Drive, Larpin Lane, Towanda Road, High Meadow Road, Heatherwood Drive, Westchester Street, La Vista Drive, Clouds Mill Drive, Hopark Drive, Old Rolling Road and Apple Tree Drive.  Damage to the vehicles is estimated to be at least $7,600. A $100 to $1,000 cash reward will be paid for information that leads to an arrest. More information .

Vehicle Thefts

A Chevrolet Impala was reported stolen from the 6200 block of Farrington Avenue.

A Ford Van was reported stolen from the 5500 block of Vincent Gate Terrace.

Larcenies

Cash was stolen from a residence on the 5600 block of Bismach Drive.

A computer was stolen from a vehicle on the 6400 block of Cory Place.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle on the 6000 block of Craft Road. 

Tools were stolen from a vehicle on the 6400 block of Edsall Road.

A wallet was stolen from a business on the 5800 block of Kingstowne Center.

A car seat and tricycle were stolen from a business on the 6000 block of Kingstowne Village Parkway.

A stereo system was stolen from a vehicle on the 5500 block of Vincent Gate Terrace.
