Police Report: June 9-15

A roundup of the criminal activity in the greater Rose Hill area.

Every week, the Franconia District Police Station releases a report of the major incidents that occur in the district, which includes the greater Rose Hill area, from the previous week. Here are the incidents that occurred from June 9 to June 15. Keep in mind that these are reported incidents. A crime did not necessarily occur.

Grand Larceny Auto/Possession of Stolen Property/Hit and Run/Arrest

Police arrested the driver of a 2010 Honda Ridgeline after he fled the scene of a crash on Sunday, June 12 around 2:40 p.m. in the 6600 block of Briarleigh Way. An investigation determined the driver of the Ridgeline truck, Jeffrey T. Mullin, 18, of 14391 Dunwoodie Court in Gainesville, reportedly stole the vehicle the night before from a home in the Gainesville area. After crashing the truck, he fled the scene and was located by officers nearby. Mullin was also found to be in possession of stolen property reportedly stolen from other vehicles in the Gainesville area. Jeffrey Mullin was charged with grand larceny auto, possession of stolen property and hit and run.

Vehicle Thefts

A Volkswagen Rabbit was reported stolen from a residence on the 6600 block of Briarleigh Way.

A 2008 Ford F150 was reported stolen from a residence on the 7300 block of Wickford Drive.

Larcenies

An iPhone was stolen from a vehicle on the 5400 block of Anne Ly Lane.

Sneakers were stolen from a vehicle on the 6500 block of Carriage Drive.

Cash was stolen from a business on the 6500 block of the Springfield Mall.

A bumper was stolen from a vehicle on the 6600 block of Springfield Mall.

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle on the 5700 block of Westchester Street.

Another wallet was stolen from a vehicle on the 5800 block of Westchester Street.
