Police Report: Teens Robbed at Gunpoint, Van Stolen in Rose Hill

Motorcycle also reported stolen.

Every week, the Franconia District Police Station releases a report of the major incidents that occur in the district, which includes the greater Rose Hill area, from the previous week. Here are the incidents that occurred from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12. Keep in mind that these are reported incidents. A crime did not necessarily occur.

Commercial Robbery

Three employees of a jewelry store located at 6681-1 Backlick Road were robbed on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 12:45 p.m. A man and woman entered the store, brandished a handgun and restrained the employees. The male suspect watched the victims while the female suspect stole property from the store. They both fled the store and left in an unknown vehicle. The victims did not require medical treatment. The male suspect was described as black, about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a muscular build and mustache. He was wearing a black leather jacket, white shirt and dark-colored baseball cap. The female was described as black, about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium complexion. She was dressed in attire that covered her head with a scarf.

Robbery

around 7:30 p.m. as they walked on a footpath in the 6700 block of Lake Village Drive. Two men appeared, brandished a handgun and demanded money and cell phones. The victims complied and the suspects fled. No one required medical treatment. The first suspect with a gun was described as white, about 18 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 220 pounds. The second suspect was described as black, 18 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery/Arrest

A resident in the 6400 block of Thornhill Court allegedly observed Lewis and another man pull up to a parked motorcycle in the neighborhood around 2:20 a.m. The two men lifted the bike into a truck bed and drove away in two different trucks. Officers located the suspect vehicle with the bike. After a short vehicle pursuit and foot chase, Lewis was arrested and charged with grand larceny auto. The truck he was driving was also a stolen vehicle.

Vehicle Thefts

A Honda Mini Van was reported stolen from the 4700 block of Apple Tree Drive. 

A motorcycle was reported stolen from the 6400 block of Thornhill Court.
