Police: Springfield Teenagers Charged with Illegal Possession of Alcohol

The following are incidents reported by the Fairfax County Police in their weekly report, released Friday.

Pursuit (blue on map), 7300 block of Gresham Street, An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Heming Avenue and Elgar Street. The driver allegedly sped away. The vehicle crashed and the driver and passenger were detained. The driver, a 16-year-old Springfield boy, was charged with disregarding a stop sign and illegal possession of alcohol. Additional charges are pending. The passenger, a 15-year-old Springfield boy, was charged with illegal possession of alcohol.
