Police: Suspect Allegedly Robs Store, Stabs Employee on Frontier Drive

The store employee was transported to a local hospital after he was stabbed while trying to stop a man who robbed the store.

Fairfax County Police were called Sunday morning to a store in the 6600 block of Frontier Drive, after an Alexandria man allegedly robbed the store and then stabbed an employee who tried to stop him.

The suspect entered a store, concealed merchandise and then attempted to exit, according to police. An employee attempted to stop him but the suspect stabbed the employee and fled with the merchandise.

Responding police were able to capture the suspect. The employee was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Marcel Leigh, 51, of Alexandria, was charged with malicious wounding, grand larceny, and larceny with intent to sell stolen property.
