Police Suspect Link Between Multiple Robberies in the Region

FCPD is investigating four separate incidents that occurred in Alexandria and Springfield in the past few weeks.

Police are currently investigating a number of robberies that have been reported in the past few weeks in the Mount Vernon and Franconia districts.

According to an FCPD news release Friday, the most recent incident happened around 1 p.m. Sept. 11 at 6550 Edsall Rd., when two men entered the store and approached the clerk as if to pay for items. Instead, the two men assaulted the cashier, took money and fled the scene.

Police say in three of the other robberies, two men entered a 7-Eleven and displayed a handgun. They then proceeded to take money from the different 7-Eleven locations and fled.
