Robeks Fruit Smoothies in Kingstowne Robbed at Gunpoint Tuesday Night

'Give me the money!' suspect yelled while aiming gun, according to eyewitness.

A masked man with a gun robbed Robeks smoothie shop in Kingstowne Towne Center Tuesday night. There were no injuries.

A little before 8:45 p.m., a man entered the shop at 5824 Kingstowne Towne Center with a gun, demanding money. After receiving the money, he left the store.

The suspect is described as a male in his 20s, around 5-feet-7-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall, and between 150 and 180 pounds. He was dressed in all black, including a mask, long-sleeve shirt, shorts, and leggings. The robbery is under investigation.

In an email to Patch, a female customer, who asked not to be named for privacy reasons, described the crime.

A little before 8:45 p.m., the woman was waiting inside the store for employees to make her a smoothie. A manager and two other employees were inside the store as well, while two customers drank their smoothies outside.

Then, according to the woman, a man wearing a ski mask and gloves came into the store. 

"Give me the money!" he yelled, as he waved a gun in the air. In his other hand, he held a bag.

The witness said she crawled to the back of the store, while the robber yelled at the employees, who were fumbling with the cash register. Later, the witness said, one of the employees said the robber aimed a gun at her.

After the robber got the money and left, police arrived. According to the woman's account, witnesses said it seemed like another man was waiting across the street to assist the robber.
