Springfield Man Charged With Embezzling from Alexandria

A Springfield man has been charged with embezzling from the City of Alexandria.

Jeffrey Power, 44, worked in Alexandria's Department of Human Resources. Police received information that he was claiming unearned overtime pay as a way to embezzle money and began an investigation in him.

Power, who worked for Alexandria for 11 years, has been charged with felony embezzlement and placed on administrative leave without pay. According to a press release from the Alexandria Police Department, additional charges are possible.
