Springfield Man Robs Blind Woman

The suspect was arrested and charged with robbery.

On Saturday night, Fairfax County Police arrested Antonio Garcia, from Springfield, after he allegedly robbed a visually-impaired woman in Springfield.

Police reports said the woman was walking home using a walking stick when witnesses say Garcia approached on a bicycle, knocked the stick from her hand and grabbed a bag with force.

After witnesses described the suspect to police officers, Garcia was apprehended nearby. Police have charged Garcia with robbery.

The victim was not seriously injured.

"Franconia officers would like to thank the good Samaritans who assisted the victim and made the call, providing the information that led to Garcia’s arrest," reads a release from the police department.
