Springfield Mob Beating Caught on Surveillance Camera

A Springfield homeowner's surveillance camera captures a brutal beating Monday night.

A surveillance camera belonging to a Fairfax County homeowner recently captured a group of partygoers repeatedly punching and kicking a man. Police are currently working to gather information about the victim and suspects who were involved, reported ABC7.

The surveillance footage shows what appears to be a group of teenagers and men in their 20s kicking and punching a young man in a Springfield neighborhood Monday night near Braddock Road.

According to ABC7, Jack Webb installed the camera outside his home in the 5200 block of Inverchapel Road a few months ago after someone broke into his car.

The camera captured the attack Monday night, as a group of men and women stood to the side watching — some with drinks in their hands and some videotaping the beating.

The noise awoke Webb who called 911. After the beating, someone helped the victim to his feet, and he was able to walk away.

"I was sick to my stomach," neighbor Sean Moka tells ABC 7. "It's the utter disregard for life. One wrong blow and these kids could be facing a homicide charge."

ABC7 reported that officials did not locate the victim or find information about the suspects. Police went door-to-door in search of information and witnesses and found none.

A Bishop Ireton High School student hosted a party next door to where the attack happened. The student told ABC7 that the people involved in the brutal beating were not invited but found out about the party through social media.

Webb said police told him if the victim is not willing to come forward and press charges, there's nothing more they can do.
