Backup begins near Edsall Road.

UPDATE: VDOT reports no delays on I-95 South. The vehicle fire that created a three-mile backup appears to have been cleared away.

There are major delays Tuesday morning on Interstate 95 South due to a vehicle fire, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. NewsChannel 8 described the vehicle as a dump truck.

On I-95, at mile marker 167 in Fairfax County, motorists can expect major delays due to a vehicle fire, VDOT said.

The south center lane, right lane, and right shoulder were closed at 10:45 a.m., the most recent update from VDOT.

Traffic backups are approximately three miles.
