Attempted Drug Dealing, Public Drunkenness at Franconia-Springfield Metro Station

Six incidents reported by Metro at Franconia-Springfield in March.

Arrests were made at the Franconia-Springfield Metro station for attempted drug dealing and public drunkenness in March, according to an incident blotter (PDF) released by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

The two arrests were some of the six incidents that occurred at Franconia-Springfield in March. No incidents occurred at the nearby Van Dorn Street station. 

The arrest for possession with intent to distribute marijuana was made around 7:20 p.m. on March 23, while the drunk in public arrest was made around 11:23 p.m. on March 8.

On March 9, a destruction of property and bicycle theft were both reported at 5:59 on March 9. On March 12, a summons was issued to a passenger who tried to avoid paying the fare, and on March 29 a citation was issued for trespassing.

A WMATA report found that the Franconia-Springfield station has , although it still had less crime than some stations in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
