Delegate: Choice Should Be Clear After DNC

Dr. Steve Bunn, a delegate from Virginia, says the Democratic National Convention should help undecided voters make the right choice.

CHARLOTTE — For the past three days, Democrats have stood up to send what they call a clear message to the American people: Re-elect President Barack Obama.

Dr. Steve Bunn, a dentist from Kingstowne and secretary of the Democratic Party in Virginia, is one of thousands of delegates that have landed in Charlotte for the Democratic National Convention.

Bunn, 56, said after the viewing of the convention everyone should be able to make the right decision in November.

"It should be real clear what their choice is, it’s Barack Obama."

This is the first convention Bunn has attended as a delegate and the experience, he said, has been "tremendous."

When asked why he wanted to take on such a big commitment, Bunn said there was no way he couldn't attend.

"Attending the convention doesn’t feel like a big commitment just like a lot of things that are important to you. I had to do it."

During the convention, Democrats challenged one another to go back to their communities with renewed energy and rally as many people as they could to vote.

Bunn accepts the challenge saying one of the keys to Obama winning in November is for Democrats to successfully communicate the President's message.

"I can communicate my excitement, my renewed belief in the direction that the country should be going in under the president.

The other component is making sure that everybody who can legally vote gets to vote.
