Gov. Bob McDonnell Official Portrait Unveiled

Gov. Bob McDonnell attended the unveiling of his official gubernatorial portrait Tuesday, according to a news release from his office. The portrait was unveiled at the Library of Virginia. The portrait will be displayed on the third floor of the Virginia State Capitol with the gubernatorial portraits of Governor McDonnell’s predecessors.

McDonnell’s portrait was done by artist Nancy Mauck of Richmond. Mauck was recently commissioned for portraits of several Virginia notables including Susan Allen (wife of Gov. George Allen), Lisa Collis (wife of Gov. Mark Warner), Virginia Supreme Court Justice Bernard Goodwyn, and Gov. Timothy Kaine

Mauck charges $20,000 for a full-length oil portrait. The McDonnell portrait was framed by Tom Wise of Sterling Art and Frame in Richmond.

A portrait of Virginia first lady Maureen McDonnell was painted by artist Loryn Brazier. She is wearing a blue gown, presumably depicting the blue gown she wore to her husband's inauguration. The oil on linen painting is on display at the Executive Mansion in Richmond.
