Lee District Democrats to Travel to Richmond for General Assembly Appreciation Day

The group will visit Richmond Wednesday to show support for Democratic delegates and senators.

The Lee District Democrats will be traveling to Richmond Wednesday morning for 2013 Generaly Assembly Appreciation Day, according to the group's recent newsletter. The group will meet in Kingstowne and go to show support for local Democratic delegates and senators.

The group will carpool to Richmond on the first Wednesday after crossover — mid-session, by the end of this day, the House must conclude its actions on all House bills and the Senate must have finished its work on Senate bills. After this date, the House can only consider Senate bills and vice versa.

During the visit, the group plans to tour the renovated Capitol, visit the galleries of the Virginia House and Senate, visit their members' offices in the General Assembly building, have lunch in Shockoe Bottom and visit the Democratic Party of Virginia (DPVA) headquarters.
