Slow, Steady Turnout at Kingstowne Polling Stations

Little wait at Kingstowne polls

Volunteers and politicians reported slow but steady turnout this morning at voting locations around Kingstowne.

"We're just having a great time this morning," said Patrick Murray, who is running against incumbent Rep. Jim Moran (D) in Virginia's 8th congressional district. Murray, greeting voters outside of the polling station at Hayfield Secondary, characterized turnout in the morning as a "steady trickle."

Turnout is "not as strong as you think it'd be," said Virginia Del. Mark Sickles (D-43), campaigning at Hayfield Secondary for Rep. Moran.

"It looks like a lot of our voters are coming," Sickles said, adding that he thinks Moran is nearly certain to win.

Volunteers at Hayfield School and Lane Elementary characterized turnout similarly—slow but consistent.
