Telegraph Road Access to Outer Loop Closed through April

Detours will send motorists to Huntington Avenue

Construction on the Wilson Bridge Project will close Telegraph Road access to the Capital Beltway's Outer Loop through April.

Now through the end of April, Telegraph's northbound and southbound ramps to the Outer Loop (I-95/495 North) will close from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The ramps will also be closed on some Saturdays and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a press release Tuesday afternoon.

All of the closings are "weather permitting" Wilson Bridge Project spokesperson Jennifer Lavin said. Typically, construction only stops as a result of severe weather, and workers go by observed weather, rather than forecasts, Lavin said.

Drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routs. Detours will send motorists down Huntington Avenue to get access to the Beltway from northbound Route 1.

The Wilson Bridge Project is on time and expected to be completed by late summer or early fall of this year, Lavin said.
